Apple seeds its third beta version of iPod & iPhone 3.0 Beta 3 (build 7A280f).

Will update once I get to play with this new build.
———

Update 1: From 9 to 5 MaciPhone OS 3.0 beta 3 breaks Skype over 3G

Also here are the reported changes on the new build.

  • MMS works with modified carrier bundle on German T-Mobile network.
  • Spotlight now saves the last search.
  • Speed improvements.
  • Option for iPods that let you change what your double tap home button is.
  • You can change spotlight to search for what you want to search for ex everything but applications.
  • iPod icon is aligned.
  • Restrictions now add In-App Purchases and Location. and Location.

Update 2: I have now installed the new beta build on my iPhone 3G and I can now confirm that iPhone 3.0 Beta 3 makes Skype calls over the 3G network not possible. (please see screen shot below)

Update 3: This new version fixed my YouTube problem which started on the first version of iPhone 3.0. Finally it’s been fixed. This is a lot snappier as well compared to the last build.

Finally I have been able to make Internet Tethering to work on my iPhone 3G. I had made successful pairing to my MacBook. I tested tethering via Bluetooth and USB – both are working all just fine. Now I think with this new feature, I may need a bigger data bundle.
